Hope
Through the dark and cloudy sky
A single shaft comes lit;
In the tempest of the sea
Blows a moment of respite;
In a crowded throng of strangers,
She hears a gay “hello!”
A familiar face so dear comes near;
She walks no more alone;
When the sun has parched and hurt him,
He cannot go the other miles,
Somehow his feet keep moving,
He crosses the Finish Line and smiles;
I feel alone, Life's burdens,
With stress and worry weighing,
Ends to meet, kids to raise ~
“Let me help,” his voice is saying;
Far away, the soldiers lie
Within a battle-raging hell,
Through the haze of bullets fired
Comes a vision loved so well;
When pain and fear are winning,
No matter when or where,
Into each moment can descend
The Hope of answered prayer.

In the tempest of the sea
Blows a moment of respite;
In a crowded throng of strangers,
