Onward, Ever Onward


The Path is set before you,
Destiny laid it down,
Missteps ere will haunt you,
In Fate’s embrace to drown;

Through Darkness as you wander,
Thinking you are alone,
Shadows gliding yonder,
Close in with gentle moan;

Illumination escapes you,
As Darkness all surrounds,
Each step presents anew
The Path that still confounds;

In spite of Darkness’ fervor,
In spite of the Path predestined,
Each step another measure,
Of what Blindness yet will find;

Sweet Breath guides you forward,
Soft as a mother’s hand,
Pressing you ever onward,
The Breath of Heaven’s Band.
